Privacy Policy for Fast IELTS App

Welcome to Fast IELTS App ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our mobile application, Fast IELTS App (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide and improve our App and services to you. The types of information we collect include:
Account Information:
- Email Address: When you create an account, we collect your email address.
- Password: You will create a password to secure your account. We store this in a secure, typically hashed, format. This information is collected directly from you when you register for an account within the App and is managed through Firebase Authentication services.
Information for Push Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging - FCM):
To provide you with push notifications, we utilize Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), a service provided by Google. When you use our App, FCM automatically collects certain information necessary to deliver these notifications. This includes:
- FCM Registration Token: A unique token generated by FCM that identifies your specific app instance on your device. This token is essential for us to send notifications to your device.
- Device Information (Potentially): FCM may collect certain device information (such as device model, operating system version) to ensure the reliable delivery of notifications and for diagnostic purposes. This data collection is governed by Google's privacy practices for Firebase.
We do not request or collect other personally identifiable information like your name (unless you voluntarily provide it in communications with us), phone number, or precise location through the App's core functionality, unless explicitly stated for a specific feature which you opt-into.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used for the following purposes:
- To Create and Manage Your Account: We use your email address and password to create your account, authenticate you, and manage your access to the App's features.
- To Provide and Improve Our Services: To operate the App, provide you with its functionalities, and to understand how users interact with the App so we can improve it.
- To Send Push Notifications: We use your FCM token to send you relevant notifications related to the App, such as updates, reminders, alerts, or other information pertinent to your use of the App.
- To Communicate With You: We may use your email address to send you service-related announcements (e.g., account verification, changes/updates to features of the App, technical and security notices, password reset emails) or to respond to your support requests.
- To Maintain Security and Prevent Fraud: To protect the security of our App and users.
We do not use your personal information for purposes other than those described in this Privacy Policy without your consent.
3. Data Sharing
We only share your information under the following circumstances:
With Firebase (Google):
- Account Information: Your email address and hashed password are stored and managed using Firebase Authentication.
- FCM Token: The FCM registration token and potentially related device information are shared with Google to enable the delivery of push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Other Firebase Services: If we use other Firebase services (like Firestore or Realtime Database for app data related to your account), information processed by these services will also be handled according to Google's privacy practices. Google acts as a service provider (or data processor) and their use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and relevant Firebase terms. We encourage you to review them.
For Legal Reasons:
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation.
- Protect and defend our rights or property.
- Prevent fraud.
- Act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the App.
- Protect against legal liability.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information (such as email address or FCM token) to other third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Data Security
We, in conjunction with Firebase, take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to help protect the information collected from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. For example, passwords are typically stored in a hashed format. Firebase also implements robust security measures to protect the data it handles.
However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Account Information:
We retain your account information (email address, hashed password) for as long as your account remains active. If you request to delete your account, we will initiate the deletion process.
Account Deletion:
You can request to delete your account through the functionality provided within the App or by contacting us. Upon receiving a deletion request, your account and associated personal information (email, password, and any other data directly tied to your account stored in Firebase) will be automatically deleted from our active databases and Firebase systems, typically within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that some data may be retained in backups for a limited period for disaster recovery purposes or if required by law, after which it will be deleted.
FCM Registration Tokens:
FCM registration tokens may become invalid if you uninstall the App or disable notifications, and will eventually be removed from our active messaging lists.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You have certain choices and rights regarding your information:
Managing Push Notifications:
- Device-Level Settings: You can typically manage or disable push notifications for our App through your mobile device's settings menu (usually under "Notifications" or "Apps").
Managing Your Account Information:
- Access and Updates: You may be able to review and update your account information through settings within the App.
- Account Deletion: As stated in Section 5, you can request the deletion of your account.
App Uninstallation:
If you uninstall the App, this will stop all data collection by the App from your device. Your FCM registration token associated with that installation will eventually become invalid. However, your account information will remain on our servers until you request its deletion.
If we introduce in-app settings for more granular notification or data control in the future, this policy will be updated.
7. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or a higher age if stipulated by local law in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the relevant age without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App, on our store listing, or by other means as appropriate. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
